The Grant School
The historic Grant School is located in the southern Puget Sound area of Mason County, WA. Nestled among a forest of Douglas-fir, the school overlooks Pickering Passage.
The one-room schoolhouse opened in 1914 and served local elementary children for nearly four decades. After the school closed in 1942, the building and grounds became a community meeting hub and continues to be a neighborhood gathering place.
The Pickering
Community Club
The Grant School is the home of the Pickering Community Club (PCC), which is dedicated to preserving this historic Mason County Landmark. The club also supports local schools in a variety of ways, primarily providing funding for Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) programs.
The PCC maintains and operates the school through membership dues, volunteer projects, grant funding, fundraising activities and donations.
